What to expect at your visit

First time with acupuncture? Please wear loose, comfortable clothing to your appointment and have eaten prior to your appointment. Initial consultations last up to 90 minutes. Intake includes blood pressure, tongue and pulse examination.

Acupuncture can treat a wide range of conditions including anxiety, depression, migraines, digestive issues, insomnia, acute or chronic pain, symptoms of menopause, adverse effects of chemotherapy, and many more. Acupuncture is not magic and patients should expect to have several follow-up appointments in the following days, weeks, or months based on the condition and recommended treatment plan.

Tuina Chinese Medical Massage originated in parts of Asia, becoming fully formulated into schools and techniques in China. The massage consists of both movements across the muscles and acupressure to activate and unblock energy meridians and loosen tight and knotted muscles. While massage is generally thought of as a treatment done with oils and stroking movements, Tuina consists of stronger techniques in order to clear physical and energetic issues and is usually done through clothes without oil. Areas able to be addressed include the neck, arms, front and/or back of legs, gluteus muscles, back, and abdomen.

Lindsay began her acupuncture and integrative health journey in 2019. She graduated Virginia University of Integrative Medicine with a Master’s of Science in Acupuncture in March 2022 and became licensed in the state of Maryland. She has also received training and became a Diplomate in Animal Acupuncture, a Fellow of the American Board of Animal Acupuncture, and certified by the state of Maryland in Animal Acupuncture.

Prior to her acupuncture career, Lindsay was a wildlife biologist for Washington, D.C. She obtained her Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of Maryland in 2004 and her Master’s of Science in Biology in 2008 from Eastern Kentucky University.

In June 2022, Lindsay and her husband moved to the UK. Since that time, she has become a part of the British Acupuncture Federation (BAF) through membership with the Association of Acupuncture Clinicians (AAC). She has also started volunteering with World Medicine treating refugees in London.

As an avid rock climber, horseback rider, outdoor enthusiast, Lindsay has a special interest in sports related injuries and pain, as well as issues around addiction, mild anxiety and depression, trauma, and PTSD.

She is trained and certified in the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) as well as Advanced Battlefield Acupuncture protocols. Other modalities she performs during acupuncture (when necessary) include moxibustion, cupping, and gua sha.

Lindsay understands how being able to do the things we love keeps us happy and healthy. She wants to help people keep progressing at those passions and achieve his or her peaks, be it emotionally or physically, through both acupuncture and other integrative health modalities.
